A Note From CSC Executive Director Elizabeth Shackelford

As Executive Director, I have the daily privilege to work closely with the Children’s Safety Center’s Board of Directors, who are each my boss. The men and women who volunteer for the CSC’s board are extremely passionate about our mission of helping and providing services to alleged child victims of sexual and physical abuse. I would like to take a moment to thank Sara Boelkins, Chris Thornton, Dan Prier, Brittney Duke, Danny Snow, John Sampson and Jordan Greer for their tireless efforts and dedication through the many opportunities and challenges they have faced as CSC board members. I would also like to express a very special thank you to Sara, who recently stepped down as president. The past three years I had the honor of working one-on-one with Sara while she was president and she taught me not only how to be a better leader or how to remain calm in a crisis, but also the importance of balancing life with work. Sara has been my guardian angel and I will forever be grateful. I’m pleased to announce Chris as the new board president and Jordan as vice president. I know I will learn even more in my role and as a leader by working with Chris. Chris and his family have supported the CSC for many years and I thank his family for supporting his leadership role with the CSC. I’m also excited to announce the addition of two new board members – Matt Hicks with Centennial Bank in Rogers and Dale Brown, partner with Bassett Law Firm in Fayetteville. Both Matt and Dale have been involved with the CSC’s yearly fundraiser, Dream Big and will bring new ideas and talents to the board. Happy 2014! – Elizabeth
